STUDIO APPOINTMENTS

Our owner & designer Carrie will greet you & your group at our Barrowford based studios, welcoming you into our Georgian style showroom with over 300 samples in 50+ colours/fabrics to try on in your allotted time. Carrie will introduce herself, offer refreshments (time permitting), tell you what to expect, talk through your design ideas, making sketches and notes if necessary, showing styles that match your requests, take photos for you/your group for your future reference if you like, give fabric samples (or make notes to send at a later date) and take any initial measurements should you wish. Carrie is on hand to give expert advice on body shapes, suitable styles to enhance and support the body, colour matching for all skin types, appropriate styles for younger bridesmaids/prom and sketch any new custom designs should you wish.

We charge for fittings to ensure customers turn up to the showroom to utilise and cover Carrie’s time for your specialist 1-2-1 appointment, refreshments, fabric samples and overall showroom experience. We source fabric and supplies from local companies to not only reduce our environmental impact but to also make our products as affordable as possible for all our customers. We believe we have a superior couture product and service at an affordable price point, therefore, we ask for minimal additional charge for our fittings. The fitting cost is separate from the cost of the items.

Ideally wear the underwear you’ll be wearing to your event, or something similar. Come with more underwear choices if need be. We let you change in complete privacy but are on hand to help, should you need it. You can bring your heels or a similar height of heel if you like. We have a range of heels to try with our samples also.

Please come as prepared as possible! We love customer who have lots of ideas & photos! Take a look at our site & social media for ideas on styles possible & colour ways you like. If you have a custom idea in mind, please come with photos to show Carrie of something similar, even if its sections, like a top/sleeve/waistband for example. The clearer the initial process is, the easier it is for all going forward and helps with quoting a price more accurately.

Please note, we do not offer corset/boned style dresses, embellishments, intricate beading and work mainly with premium quality stretch fabrics that do not include zips or buttons usually.

95% of our orders are made remotely using our measurement guide & videos to help you through the process. If a member of your party can’t be present in the fitting, don’t worry! They can either send their measurements later via email supported by a dedicated team member or book a 15-45 minute fitting to either have just their measurements taken or try up to 3 styles, nearer the time of your event.

We usually say that 1 initial fitting to try on styles, discuss fabric samples, have initial measurements taken and take as many photos as possible too, is enough. Don’t forget, 95% of our orders are made remotely through our site or via email with a team member guiding you. We then make & ship direct to you (or you can collect if local), try on at home and contact us if any small alterations may be needed. It sometimes happens, so that’s why we leave at least 2-3 weeks prior to your event date to ensure we can book in alterations with plenty of time spare.

After your first fitting, our admin team check Carrie’s notes from appointments, type up a breakdown with pricing, send you an email with everything included and if you are happy to confirm, we then send an invoice for payment. Once paid in full, this secures your sewing slot. (We offer payment plan options for orders over £1000, ask your dedicated team member)

We pass your order to our seamstress team in the cutting room who check initial details and book your dresses in to their diary to be made. If updated measurements or heel heights are needed, our admin team will contact you 1 week prior to your requested delivery date to ask for these. We then hand cut, make and package your dresses to ship directly to you (unless you have asked to pick up/booked another showroom fitting).

There are 2 ways for us to take your measurements;

1. Visit us at the showroom and Carrie can take your initial first stage measurements at the time of your fitting. You can then send your FINAL measurements up to 1 week prior to your requested delivery date which you decide.

2. You can send your FINAL measurements remotely via email helped by our dedicated team members using our measurement guide that we send & step by step instruction videos on our Instagram highlights.

As long as your order is confirmed and paid for, we can then book it in with our seamstress team to secure your sewing slot in time for your event. We then start cutting & making your order 1 week prior to your requested delivery date which you choice. So we need all final measurements & details ONE WEEK PRIOR TO YOUR DELIVERY DATE. We recommend having at LEAST 2 WEEKS from receiving your order to your event date just in case any alterations may be needed.

We are based in Barrowford, Lancashire. Our exact address will be sent once an appointment has been booked and paid for.

If driving, travel along the M65 towards Kendal and take the Barrowford exit.

If taking public transport, our local train stations are as follows:

We’d then recommend taking a short taxi journey to our showroom.
