Rene K is a luxury Made to Measure brand specialising in show-stopping bridal and occasion wear. We are revolutionising the bridal world with our figure sculpting fits and modern designs for the carefree and contemporary bride. With a glamorous alternative to traditional bridesmaids dresses, we’re known for our classic fishtail silhouettes, smoothing scuba lining, delicate drape detailing and soft cowl features. Rene K designs have become a staple with UK TV stars and celebrity red carpet events, and you’ll even spot us gracing the front cover of your favourite magazines. We believe in slow, conscious fashion so every piece of RK is meticulously designed, crafted to your measurements and handmade with love in our Lancashire based studio and showroom.

OUR BEGINNINGS
Rene K was founded by owner and designer Carrie-Ann Kay in 2002 whilst she was studying Psychology and Sociology at university in Leeds. Taught to sew as a child by her beloved grandmother and namesake, Renee, Carrie inherited her sewing machine after her passing and ignited a love for dressmaking. Created out of necessity after struggling to find well fitting clothes for her curvaceous body type in the infamous noughties era of heroin chic, Carrie spotted a gap in the market and was incentivised to fill it.
With contemporary designs inspired by the female shape, curate-your-own custom options and patterns cut to your exact measurements, Rene K is tailored for the empowered woman. With the onset of social media and Instagram we became the dressmaker for reality TV stars, and it wasn’t long until we ventured into bridal with our first celebrity wedding. We have now established ourselves as a quality handmade brand with modern designs for all your biggest events, from wedding aisle to red carpet.

To empower every woman who wears RK to feel their most confident and most beautiful. So many women don’t fit into the box of standard sizing, who aren’t a perfect cookie cutter size 8 – who don’t fit the mould. We want to make Made to Measure bespoke tailoring more accessible, so every woman can feel the joy of a perfectly fitting dress made to her exact measurements. We make dresses to fit YOU, not the other way around.

Carrie-Ann
Owner & Designer
Carrie-Ann is the owner, designer, creator and driving force behind Rene K. She spends her time sewing in the studio, designing and shooting new collections and managing the RK social media. With 20+ years of expertise and a personable down to earth approach, she’s the perfect host for our private studio appointments.
Nina
Marketing & E-Commerce
Nina joined us mid-pandemic in 2020 and has since taken on the role of Marketing Manager. In the 3+ years she has been part of the team she has managed numerous marketing campaigns from PPC to email, and manages the website from copy to design. She’s responsible for what you see here!

She’s the lovely lady at the end of your emails, answering all your queries and ensuring you have the most enjoyable experience possible. She’s an RK expert, and can recommend tailored solutions for any design or order obstacle.
