Where the Seamstress Fits

Working within the seamstress team, you’ll be responsible for amending and reprocessing our garments, ready to be shipped for each order to our clients globally. You will also support all customer alterations and the hand finishing of products which contributes to the high quality finish and attention to detail of our styles.

Your role plays a crucial part throughout the whole business and you will work closely with the PD and Fulfilment teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Full garment manufacture from cut to finish CTM
  • Following in-house patterns with adaptions when needed
  • Hand finishing garments before they go out to clients.
  • To carry out mending, repairing or alterations.
  • Follow-up to ensure returns/fixes are processed quickly and accurately.
  • Conducting any alterations, repairs and spot cleaning of garments that may come back into the studio.
  • Pressing garments.
  • Ensuring the seamstress team have the available manufacturing tools and fabrications to finish products.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience as a seamstress
  • Excellent sewing skills and ideas to think out of the box
  • Should have an understanding of design, construction and finishes
  • Excellent knowledge of stretch fabric handling
  • Good knowledge of zippers, fabric, buttons, linings and patterns
  • Must be attentive to detail, demonstrate strong self-control, and be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must know how to accurately measure, add, and subtract
  • Good technical knowledge of garment construction including knowledge of sewing and pattern making
  • Be a team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask
  • Be procedure and process orientated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Have the ability to work to deadlines
  • Be able to work quickly but efficiently
  • Have a positive and flexible approach to working
